Last night I was hanging out with my girlfriend and we were putting together a T.V. stand that I bought earlier in the day. I got a text from one of my friends who I used to be close with but hadn't seen in quite some time. He was in my town not too far from my house and asked me to meet him and another one of my friends who I haven't seen in about a year for a drink. They were at a local "adult" bar, where I hadn't been before but have passed on numerous occasions. I asked my girlfriend if she would mind me going, and she laughed and said I was in for a real treat. Apparently, she had been there before with the her friends as some what of a gag and described the type of ladies that are employed there. I am always curious and not easily offended so I headed down there to the club. As I pulled in, I noticed it's right next door to a motel, with advertised rooms by the hour and I imagine porno on tv and vibrating beds would probably come in some sort of "package-deal". So I go inside and there's no security, or cover charge, which is kind of strange for this sort of place. I sit down to grab a drink and as I'm catching up with my friends, one of the ladies of this fine establishment approaches my friend sporting a "Madonna-1983" (see pic of the album) haircut. Adorned in leather and red fish-nets, whispers something in to his ear and he politely declines her request. She then asks him who his friend is, motioning to me, and he replies, "You don't know Rozco?!" "No, we've never met," she says surprised. "Well, this is Rozco and he doesn't want a dance from you either!," exclaims my friend. She then stomped away and I laughed to myself and as I looked in the mirror behind the bar I see one "dancer" take the stage while playing a Marilyn Manson song and for once in my life realized that his music was appropriate for a setting in my life.... the worst strip club I've ever wondered into.
That wasn't too interresting, but it was quite funny to me and I thought I'd share. So, I've decided that I'm finally going to make a solo record this year. It may or may not feature some of my close friends playing instruments or singing, pretty much depending on if they come through when it's time to record. I've got some songs, pieces to others, and want to write some new ones. I'm going to go record them in April, and hopefully release them for others to criticize in the summer. I'm off to drive in the snow storm. Wish me luck!
